What is the difference between HDPE and PP pallet?

The Fundamental Differences between HDPE Pallets and PP pallets

These pallets find a significant role in different industries to carry the goods. High-density polyethylene (HDPE) and Polypropylene (PP) by Enlightening Pallet are two of the most used types in pallet production. Despite how similar they seem; these are two materials with very specific characteristics that have different use cases.

The Special Attributes of HDPE and PP Pallets

HDPE Pallets: Made from a strong and sturdy form of plastic also known for the ability to endure weight. Ideal for heavy loads and impervious to moisture and chemicals, this is a pallet in which these features come together. PP pallets or plastic pallet, on the other hand, are composed of a plastic that is both rigid and flexible at high temperatures. Because they are light-duty, these casters are most suitable for lighter loads and environments that involve low temperatures or high levels of humidity.

The Appropriate Pallet for Your Requirements

The choice between HDPE or PP pallets should hinge on a review of your particular needs. Environments that involve the need to move serious weight require HDPE pallet. In contrast, PP pallets are suitable for low grades and demanding temperature/humidity circumstances because they have much less toughness.

Things You Should Know Before Proceeding

A number of factors are to be considered in order to make the most appropriate choice between HDPE and PP pallets. First of all, take the weight of your freight into consideration before deciding on whether to use a heavy-duty pallet or not. Remember to check the environment where these pallets will be subjected as well, an environment that could include moisture or harsh chemicals. Last but not least, consider the life span of your pallets which might make better-quality HDPE pallets a more cost-effective option in long term.

HDPE Versus PP Pallets: A Brief Overview

HDPE pallets are durable, sizeable and sturdy enough to bear large loads but low maintenance. Though they are more expensive and not as stress-tolerant of high temps. However, PP export pallets are lightweight and therefore cheap with the added benefit that they are not heavier to transport nor use as disposable items on their end-of-life cycle. But if you think in terms of unit load handling machines performance or user safety guarantees would suffice; you may need more strength than polyethylene could offer at whatever manipulative strenuous work-loads may come along your way down there. PP-pallets will generally have a limited life span - lower number of trips per circulation chain compared to load carriers. On the flip-side top-level loading plants does often just develop for light-weight materials or medium payloads.
